Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
