Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
